Wooo! I love this WFH (working from home) playlist! It was inspired by a friend I recently met through work and during this crazy time she and I have been having coffee chats in the morning just to kind of touch base with another human being and laugh and share how we're getting through this crazy Coronavirus time.
What I love about my friend is that she is so lovely and kind but at the same time nitty gritty funny. Recently, she and I were sharing some favorite tunes out on YouTube and what we found we have in common is we both love songs across different genres – but what they all have in common is the BIG BIG VOICE with that kinda soulful sound you feel in your bones. We also both love the bananas good song writers – those writers that just make you feel like they KNOW YOU. Like they are a fly on the wall of your day to day trackin’ all your wins and losses.
My friend reminded me that, although I’m not a religious person, I love me some church choir music and when someone is belting out gospel and rockin the people in the seats – I KNOW someone, somewhere is listening. So whoever or whatever is helping you hold it together during this time packed with isolation, uncertainty, fear and frustration I just want to remind you that you’re not alone. Reach out on the phone or via a video chat to a friend or a neighbor or a colleague or someone at your community center or church. Just reach out.
Putting together this list of videos was a really good time and uplifting and reminded me that from darkness comes light and together we can lift each other up. It’s like Dolly says, “You can’t have a rainbow without the rain.” All these songs on this playlist give me the tingles. Hope you dig it.
